When traveling as a family few things are as important as choosing a destination. A lot of people choose the tried and tested easy options so there is no risk involved but the fact is that there are destinations such as Barcelona that – beyond its places of interest known throughout the world – offer other alternatives to family tourism with unique attractions such as Tibidabo, the most truly traditional amusement park in the Catalan capital.

Located West of Barcelona (at the top of the Tibidabo mountain) and at a distance of just over half an hour from the center of the city if you take as your starting point some of our hotels in the city center (such as the Petit Palace Barcelona, the Petit Palace Museum or the Petit Palace Boqueria Garden), the amusement park is a place designed so that children and adults can spend a unique and totally different day in a place that offers, without a doubt, the best views of the capital.

With more than 700,000 square meters and about thirty attractions designed for different ages, Tibidabo Amusement Park offers a flexible schedule and affordable prices for families who have decided to enjoy a whole day of high adreneline fun in the third oldest amusement park in Europe.  This is why you shouldn’t miss it:

Facilitated access

The park’s main handicap is its location in the upper area of Barcelona which has led the park managers and the city organizations to start a public transport scheme that will leave you at the park’s door quickly and easily. So, for less than three euros per person, you can forget about having to rent a car or search for parking.

The views of Magic Mountain

As we mentioned at the beginning, the Tibidabo is located about 500 meters above sea level and in the highest area of Collserola, the sierra of Barcelona. This is why you are guaranteed beautiful views from the so-called Magic Mountain. If you love breathtaking sunsets you can’t help wishing away the day so you can enjoy the experience from this location.

The list never ends

Beyond its permanent attractions and its postcard views, the amusement park offers a number of cultural events that will delight your children. Among the most outstanding are the puppet parties, the Pallapupas and their numerous parties in which you can participate or traditional themes, like Sardanista Day.
