Without a doubt Seville is very hot in summer, extremely hot. However, this motive should never be an impediment to visit the city in the month of August. What is the trick?
Organise well your trip so that you do not suffer the consequences of the heat, leave early rising for the winter and decide to go to bed very late because when you can really enjoy Seville is at night.
During the hours of sunshine you can use the time to visit the interiors of some of the architectural jewels of the city (such as La Giralda, Los Reales Alcazares, or Casa Pilatos) and enjoy the shade provided in Murillo Gardens or Maria Luisa Park, there is nothing better than to leave the night for culture in Seville with concerts as the protagonists.
To find the best concert halls in the centre of Seville, the best departure points are our Petit Palace Santa Cruz, Petit Palace Canalejas Seville or the Petit Palace Marques de Santa Ana. Not only will you be very few metres from the principal halls but you will also be able to enjoy a nice cold beer or a plate of cheese. Do you want to get it right? Today we will give you some ideas:
Home of the Guitar
In the Meson del Moro street (just a few metres from our hotels) you will find the Home of the Guitar (Casa de la Guitarra), one of the 9 most important museums in Spain (according to TripAdvisor) and a place where you can enjoy authentic concerts of flamenco with dancing, music and singing live with some of the best artists from the world of flamenco. The alma mater? The great Jose Luis Postigo, one of the most important flamenco guitarists in the world.
If you prefer mainstream music, the Fun Club hall is your place. This hall is situated in the fantastic Alameda de Hercules and forms part of those places that have given character to Seville for more than 30 years. With a somewhat “shady” decoration but with exceptionally good staff and music, the Fun Club is perfect to have a first drink.
Although depending on the programme, the Sala X has one of the best acoustics in the whole of Seville. Famous for their concerts of metal, rock and outstanding pop rock bands, this hall has kept its name in homage to its past… in the 90s it was the principal X hall in Seville. The best? The location also in “la Alameda”.
