The spring, one of the best periods for visiting Valencia, is little by little coming to its end. These months good weather makes squares and terraces come to life again, people make the most of the sunny days to have a walk along the beach and the most of the emblematic places of the city get crowded. In this article we recommend you some outdoor must visit places in Valencia.
Every day, and specialy during weekends, many Valencians go to the Turia gardens for walking, cycling, running, skating or simply relaxing on the grass and enjoying the open air. These gardens are located in the old channel of the river Turia, which used to go through the city from Cabecera park to the modern City of Arts and Sciences.
During these dates it is also typical to visit the Malvarrosa beach to eat a delicious paella in some of the beach restaurants or to walk along the seaside promenade to Patacona beach.
You cannot miss the opportunity to have a walk around Valencia’s old town. Although it can be done at any time of the year, these dates are more pleasant as streets are filled with the happiness good weather brings with its arrival. Besides, in Carmen neighbourhood almost all the bars and restaurants open their terraces for their clients to enjoy a drink in the open air.
We also suggest that you visit the Bioparc of Valencia, a new concept of zoo where a wide range of animals have been freed from their cages and where the environmental conditions of their natural settings have been preserved.
Finally, we recommend that you have a boat trip around the Albufera Natural Park. A unique experience in which apart from enjoying this natural setting you will discover one of the most traditional Valencian landscapes, with the “barracas” (typical Valencian houses) surrounded by reeds and the lake.
